The Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in AI Software Engineering is a two-year, skills-focused program at Maestro College. You’ll learn the foundations of modern software development — programming, backend and frontend technologies, databases, and applied AI — through hands-on, project-based learning. This guide shows you how the program is structured and what you’ll study across the nine terms.
The AAS in AI Software Engineering gives you a practical foundation in modern software development and the role AI plays in real products. You’ll learn the core principles of programming, how to design and build applications, and how the different layers of a system — frontend, backend, databases, and AI — connect to each other. You’ll develop hands-on experience through applied projects: building APIs, creating interactive web interfaces, working with databases, and applying AI tools to real problems. Throughout the program, you’ll strengthen your problem-solving skills — from improving existing systems, to designing new features, to integrating AI models into product workflows.
You’ll complete the AAS in AI Software Engineering over nine terms, with coursework designed to develop strong, industry-ready technical skills for software and AI engineering roles.
